System Planning Engineer - Operations/Regulatory

Job description

The Aspen Midstream Engineering group is seeking a pipeline design engineer to support natural gas and liquid hydrocarbon pipeline/facility project execution and operational support.  The individual is responsible for project engineering on small projects or portions of larger Pipeline or Pipeline Facilities projects, along with facility optimization, hydraulic modeling, and regulatory oversight.

Responsibilities/Expectations

  • Review and utilize Company procedures and work instructions as assigned to the Project Management group personnel
  • Coordinates and performs regulatory compliance activities as they pertain to gas and liquid pipeline safety rules and regulations
  • Perform engineering hydraulic modeling and optimization of existing company pipelines and expansions projects
  • Direct engineering and design for the assigned segment of the project including hydraulic modeling and air permitting
  • Participate in weekly project team meeting and maintain the action item/deliverable register for review and updating on a weekly basis
  • Resolve problems at the interface between the segment and adjoining segments or between disciplines on project teams
  • Review deliverable products to ensure the intent of the basis of design is met
  • Assist in engineering design when the engineering specialty is required
  • Manage the activities of the project team to meet the committed schedule

Education/Years of Experience

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and minimum two (2) years' Oil & Gas experience
  • Knowledge of Part 192 and 195 regulations along with RRC and TCEQ experience a plus

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
  • Working Knowledge of BR&E ProMax and Winflow modeling software
